- Natural Asset
A component of natural capital.
- Natural Capital
The elements of nature that directly or indirectly produce value for people, including ecosystems, species, freshwater, land, minerals, air and oceans, as well as natural processes and functions. The term is often used synonymously with natural asset, but in general implies a specific component.
- Natural Capital Accounting
A way of organising information about natural capital so that the state and trends in natural assets can be documented and assessed in a systematic way by decision makers.
- Natural Capital Stock
The tangible biotic and abiotic structures that make up the natural world and which support processes and functions that can contribute to human well-being. Stocks can be represented in various ways, but are more often measured in terms of the areas, volumes or numbers.
