Stiftelsen Norsk Institutt for Naturforskning – NINA (Norway)
The Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) is Norway’s leading institution for applied ecological research, employing about 190 staff. Particular areas of expertise include land-use and nature management, harvesting and sustainable use; biodiversity and ES; community development and local participation in resource management; and research on conflicts in natural resource management. NINA participated in 13 projects under EU 6th Framework programme including the ongoing ALTER-net. In the 7th FP, NINA coordinates the projects FunciTree and POLICYMIX and is involved in several other projects that received funding.
