Institut National de Recherche et Sciences et Technologies pour l’Environnement et l’Agriculture – IRSTEA (France)
IRSTEA (former Cemagref) is a Government-funded higher education and research institute involved in research in the fields of water management, forestry, agriculture and environment. The Institute has been involved in more than 40 European and International research projects and is an active member of the PEER Partnership. It is a member of CONNECT, LANDSCAPE EUROPE, and ALTER-Net among other international networks.
The main goal is to produce new knowledge and technical innovations for use by managers, decision-makers and companies in providing answers to the specific questions raised by society concerning resource management, land use and development. IRSTEA takes part in OpenNESS through the Department of Land Management, which includes scientists working on biodiversity and the sustainable development of ecosystems with a particular emphasis on forest modelling.
